Getting a professional email for your photo booth business

Why a booth@yourcompany.com address wins more bookings than a Gmail or Yahoo — and the fastest way to set one up with your own domain.

When a couple is choosing who photographs the most-photographed corner of their wedding, every detail is a signal. The quote, the contract, the portal — and the email address it all comes from. sparkbooth916@gmail.com reads like a side hustle. hello@sparkbooth.co reads like a business they can trust with their day.

A custom email address on your own domain is one of the cheapest upgrades to how your booth business is perceived — and it takes about ten minutes to set up.

Why it matters more than you'd think

  • It builds instant trust. Clients equate a branded address with a real, established company. A free webmail address quietly raises the question of whether you'll still be around in eight months.
  • It stops your quotes landing in spam. A properly configured domain (with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records) authenticates your mail so it actually reaches the inbox — critical when a single missed reply loses the booking.
  • It's yours forever. If you ever change providers, your address and your whole client history move with you. You're not renting your identity from a free inbox.
  • It scales with you. Add bookings@, staff@, or a second shooter's address the day you need them.

What you actually need

Two things:

  1. A domain nameyourcompany.com. If you have a website, you already own one.
  2. A mailbox provider that hosts email on that domain and gives you a real inbox, calendar, and storage.

Free webmail can't put your custom domain on the sending side reliably, which is why serious operators use a proper business mailbox.

The setup we recommend: Google Workspace

Most booth operators already live in Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive. Google Workspace is the same tools you know, pointed at your own domain — so you@yourcompany.com runs inside the exact Gmail interface you already use, with the calendar and Drive you rely on for galleries and contracts.

It also plugs straight into BoothIQ: connect that Google account on your email settings page and every client email — quotes, reminders, contract invites — sends from your branded address with no "sent with" footer.

A ten-minute checklist

  1. Pick your address format. hello@, bookings@, or your first name — keep it simple and human.
  2. Add your domain during Workspace signup (or buy one on the spot if you don't have one).
  3. Verify the domain and add the mail records Workspace gives you — this is the SPF/DKIM/DMARC step that keeps you out of spam. Their setup wizard walks you through it.
  4. Send yourself a test from the new address.
  5. Connect it to BoothIQ on your email settings page so client automations send from you, not from us.

That's it. A branded inbox that makes your booth business look as professional as the work you deliver — and one less reason for a client to hesitate.
